How often (honestly) do you have the saddler and dentist out to your horse ?? I know your meant to every 6-12 months or something but i know many people don't.

I haven't had the saddler out at regular intervals yet as i've had problems with my saddle / changing shape etc so min every 6 months ive changed saddle / had alterations done. Now my saddle has just had some flocking done and i know its perfect i will have it checked every 6 months unless there are any problems sooner.

The dentist my pony has every 8-12 months. sometimes more towards 10months rather than 12 as she has seriously messed up teeth that i like kept an eye on every spring and autumn for example.

I have the vet out every 12 months for teeth, but will do every 6 months when the vet says so as my horse is getting on a bit now.

The saddler i have out every april... i dont do much over the winter and like to have the saddle checked when i start work, i guess ideally after a few months after ive started working them too would be better but i cant afford it!

Teeth - 12 months on advice of EDT
Saddle - 6-8 months though will be more often when I get my WOW to keep an eye on his (hopefully) changing shape

Saddler - Every 4 months? My mare is only 5 so she keeps changing shape and being a cow when it doesn't quite fit right!
Teeth - Never had them done yet. Being in the Isle of Man I have to wait for a dentist to come over, he was ment to be here in January lol!

Saddler - if/when I think there is a problem or I need a new saddle! Have a Thorowgood so saddler has shown me how to recognize when I need to adjust the Fish in it. We havent ever had regular saddle checks; I think it is easy enough to recognize whether a saddle is pinching/rocking etc, or whether your horse has significantly changed shape.

Dentist - Ellie hasnt had her teeth done for 3 years, so we're going to hopefully book for Easter!

Don't have the saddler out unless there is a problem, as I have a barrie swain mondial saddle and it's treeless and moulds to the horse so doesn't really need adjusting.

Dentist and back man out twice a year.

as its a new saddle & jays changing shape all the time it will be every month for the next few months then ever 6 months, dentist is once a year unless any problems

Saddle check - every time I ride (myself!) but I only adjust their saddles when needed.

Dentist - I need to have the vet rasp my horses every 6 months as one is a youngster and the other an occasional windsucker (without collar) so I try to make sure that their teeth are seen to regularly.

I have my horses teeth checked every six months (on advice of EDT)

I don't have a saddler out, but keep an eye on the fit myself. I have his back checked about every 3 months so would pick up on it if his saddle wasn't a good fit.
