Saddler - how does it work

hey guys bought my first horse and the saddler is coming to fit the saddle, how does it work? theres a call out fee and is that it? he said about bridles rugs etc, but would it cost anymore if i got him to fit a bridle aswell as a saddle? thanks:confused:
 
Yes they usually charge a call out fee and then you pay for any tack you buy from them. They will want to see you riding in any suitable saddles as well so be prepared for that. Give as much detail about your horse / what you want n advance as it is annoying if they don't turn up with anything suitable.
 
thanks, well i wouldnt buy it there and then i would have a look online just so i know what to buy sorta thing, so would it just be the call out fee? if he say did saddle, rug and bridle (sizing/fitting) if i didnt buy anything?
 
Humm I dont think for one he would fit you a rug and expect you not to buy it. Once its been on the horses back they would find it very hard to re-sell it. Isnt there anyone on your yard who could help you size and fit a bridle and a rug?
