Hi all

I need a new saddler as I am not able to get hold of my old one anymore (Alex Mcracken (sp))

Can anyone make any good recommendations for the Kent area?

I will not use KLD or Andrew Reilly just due to feedback I have received.

Numbers would be good also if you can PM me.

I have heard about Clive Bending and Colin Schilling and thats about it!

Thanks for your help.

I always use John at Wealdon Saddlery (actually they relocated to Hurst Green so I suppose they are technically in E Sussex now). He is a good saddle fitter in my opinion - I like the fact that he wont automatically try to sell you a brand new saddle

dont use clive!!! will tell you in pm if you like!!!

i use ken lyndon dyke and he is fab for my horse! though kirsty at saddleworld gets a thumbs up too. Sue at saddle rack in hawkings is fab! she sponsored my dissertation!

Frogpool Manor are quite good

i used to use clive but a recent expierience with another horse on my yard has left me doubting (pm if you want ) so I have changed to a lady called margeret new and I have the first appointment in a couple of weeks . She is v helpful on the phone so hopefully that will be the same at the fitting

Colin Shillingford (sp?) is really good. Think he is based at Saddle World. Bloody hard to get hold of but worth it! PM me if you would like his number. x

Peter Husband made a saddle for someone at my yard. It is possibly the worst saddle I have ever seen, and makes her sit in the style of an old fashioned cavalry seat, legs stuck out in front of her, due to the stirrup bars being way too far forward.

I also wouldn't buy anything from Minster saddlery for the same sort of reasons (poorly made and badly fitted).

my friend threatened to sue minster as they messed up a made to measure saddle, fitted it incorrectly and cause damage to her horses back.

hi, i live in kent and although i only use my saddler about twice a year i always use karen at chaskits, nr tunbridge wells. i have american quarter horses who are both difficult to fit but she always does a good job.
