Can a gusseted saddle (a Saddle company Cob saddle) have the panels altered to make it non-gusseted (at the back)? It has serge panels if that makes a difference.
Said saddle is lovely but is a bit long for stupidly short-backed horse. To be fair EVERYTHING's a bit long for him! Despite being 15.1hh he can barely take a 16" saddle. Which I don't fit into.
Looking at the saddle, it would solve two problems if it were non-gusseted at the back. Firstly it's a little long, but also the 'bulging' of the panels at the back (and they're not over stuffed) doesn't suit his back shape. If it were to curve up and off it would be perfect. The saddle is otherwise a lovely fit.
