Saddlers in West Yorkshire

Can anyone recommend me a decent saddler in west yorkshire please?
I have managed to get my boy up to condition and to a reasonable fitness so I think it is time to treat him to a new saddle as I HATE the one he currently has with a passion.
So yes if you could recommend me one and roughly what they charge that would be great.

I have been trying to find a good saddle fitter in Derbys/south Yorks. They seem to be as rare a rocking horse sh*t.

Everyone i rang seems to come out, have a look and thern send it to someone else, doh, whats that all about

They all seem to want you to take the horse to them! Crazy Horse in Mirfield sell the master saddlers one (half leather half synthetic) and Helen will go out to measure and then fit.
 
Think Rideaway and R and R country will come out to fit your horse - although the wait list is about 6 weeks!! They are pretty good and bring lots if saddles to try. Beavers in Beckwithshaw fit saddles (and will let you borrow them for AGES!!!) and think that Fox saddlers in Wetherby will come out if you are relatively local.

I have always tried saddles and then got the physios (VERY lovely man!) to help me decide on them. Good luck!

missugoopy don't worry for hijacking the post, I am in Huddersfield. So on one the south yorks border may help aswell.

Sadly YorksG it isn't an option for me to take him to them.

Thanks for the recommendations stencilface I will certainly enquire with both the one at Beckwithshaw and Whetherby if they will come out as I am around an hour away from them.
 
I got mine fitted at Beavers Beckwithshaw and can highly reccommmend. She was very helpful. I went she said pony is wayyy to fat (she really was
crazy.gif
) and to take away this almost brand new saddle for 3 weeks and come back for a check we decided we loved the saddle and still have it.

I really reccommend her she will only come to you if you want a brand new saddle but if you go to her she will sell you whatever

I think they are in South Yorkshire but try Throstle Nest Saddlrey at Silkstone Common Barnsley they are excellent for saddle fitting they come out to you or you can go there, they are about 10 mins off the M1 (cant remember junc no.). Its David Baxter that does the fitting.

Have you tried Hey Farm? Not sure if you they'll come out but worth a call? David Baxter from Throstle Nest in Barnsley will come to you - it may take a while he's always quite busy and he'll only bring out new saddles not second hand.
 
there is only one person in yorkshire that i would ever have out to look at my horses saddles and that Ray Kennan - the tack man. hes amazing and a proper old school saddler. ill pm you his number if you want. ive had 2 hand made to measure saddles off him - both excellent quality and he comes out from leeds to see me in Sheffield.
 
i work at Foxs in Wetherby- Keith would come out and fit you a saddle- no waiting list at the mo, so would come out pretty soon. Does charge per mile though- but its worth it. has a full range of new and second hand saddles in, and he does part exchange.
