Saddlers?

Hi,

I am getting a a custome made saddle for my horse for my 21st birthday however not sure about which saddler to choose.

Had been recommended to try Black Country saddles and I do like these however would like to find out more about other brands. Had also spoken to someone with a Black Country saddle who had to have it re-flocked after just 6 weeks...is this normal?

Could anyone recommend any other companies which do custom made leather saddles and also share any experiences they have had?

Yeah, thats normal. I'd expect to have to re-flock a new saddle after a period of weeks, as the flocking settles so much in a new saddle.

I had an Ideal made to measure and it was the most fabulous saddle i ever rode in. I love Ideal saddles. (I also love Bates Isabell dressage saddle too!) Black Country are fab saddles too though.

Oops, sorry just re-read your post. Ideal can be custom made, but Bates Isabell is not a custom saddle. sorry, just me waffling on!

Can't advise you on whate/where to go for your saddle, but it is usual for any make of new saddle to require 'adjustment' within six weeks.
