saddlery 2u. ebay seller. has anyone else been ripped off ?

just recently bought 2 rugs of ebay from a seller called saddlery 2u based in fife.
i paid £60 with the postage and have used ebay several times before with no problems.
the rugs never turned up. i mailed the seller who didnt reply and have now opened a dispute against her with ebay.
since doing all of this i have discovered this person is well known and changes her sellers name as and when she rips people off.
does anyone know how i stand with getting my money back?
would trading standards be of any use?
if any of you guys have been ripped by this seller what did you do?
please help!

i probably shouldnt put the name but if i dont then nobody will know who im on about and i need help!!!
does anyone think trading standards will help as ebay have only said i will get back £35 and not the full £60 i spent
 
How about Me and horsegirl and loads of others on here. horsegirl has reported to trading standards, but I expect them to be as useless and ineffective as ebay, who seem to let this person keep trading despite mounting complaints (probably because most won't complain incase they get left a negative and the fact that this seller reports almost everyone who complains as a non paying buyer - ebay then remove the buyers feedback if they don't dispute this false claim). SCUM UTTER SCUM.
 
I once bought from them but fortunately my items were 99p each with about £3.50 each postage as no one else bid. Bargain of the year I thought. No items were received so after contacting them a couple of times they did refund my money. They said they had sent the items but I reckon they didnt want to let the items go for so little.
I once raised a dispute over a Rambo rug that was sold as very good condition but had rips and was very old and it costs about £15 to raise. Rug was about £40 and after ages of getting no where with ebay as it a very long winded process I gave up and resold the rug for about £25 under a trueful description. I realise your situation is worse.
Good luck, I'd mither the seller first and then raise a grievence anyway.
 
damn! can see this is going to be a problem.
not impressed. i work damn hard to pay for my horses and spoil them rotten!!!
so not best pleased this theiving so and so like to take money from people.
im a flight attandant so maybe i could get staff travel and knock on their bloody door!!

second thoughts, may get arrested - i have a temper!!

Strange how they are both Scotland based, I know from my unfortunate dealings with Saddlery4U they use a PO box in Aberdeenshire.
 
Just had a look its Saddlery4u that sell the cheap stubbens, they got 99% feedback. Maybe someone has just set up with a similar name hoping to get there customers?
 
You know you can get the address 'behind' a PO Box don't you?

Call Royal Mail on 08457 950950 and quote the PO Box number, Town and Postcode and they will tell you the 'proper' address. They won't give you the company name, contact name or phone numbers though.

When opening a PO Box, companies these days have to send in proof of address such as a utility bill or bank statement, so although not completely foolproof, people are less able to open a box at an address they're not linked to.
 
Nope Saddlery4U are know rip off merchants, they keep their feedback high by means on intimidation, and falsely accusing buyers who leave negatives of not paying, so their feedback is removed (if they don't dispute the claim). Buy it now items & items that sell on auctions at or above retail value get delivered, those that go too cheap 'get lost in the post'. It's easy to keep your feedback high if you sell enough items, you can 'loose' negatives amongst them!!!

If the poster can prove everything that is claimed is true then no it is not defamatory. Otherwise if untrue then yes it is very much so and as this is a public forum then libel laws should apply.

You know something though if this is the seller am I thinking of they have been selling treadstone jumping breastplates ( look like breastgirths to me, could be wrong though?) and also stubben reins was going to bid on some xl ones but I was put off by the feedback and yes I feared not receiving them if they didn't sell for high enough.
I also worry when sellers list items and have private bidding. I can understand for items of a private nature but not others. I always wonder whether it is to hide any shill bidding.
That is also true now bidding goes private on items over £100 ( don't know if that applies to all sections or just the one's I look at ?)
Anyway if anyone is ever worried about shill bidding going on there is a little website you can use to look to see who has bid on items from that seller before. It does not mean that anyone is necessarily doing that but it means you can be a bit more observant. However with the new rules on ebay now it won't give you details on items that fetched over £99 which is a shame as it used to.

Sellers cant hide shill bidding now through private listings because when they make the bidding private, it just says Bidder 1 , Bidder 2 etc, if you click on that title, it brings up that bidders stats, ie what % of their bids have been with that seller, how many items they have purchased from them, how long they have been on ebay etc.

I make some items a private listing, because I know from past experience that some sellers who are selling the sme item as you will contact some of your bidders and say 'oh I have that item too, here is the item number'. I only do it on valuable items really.
 
oh right I wasn't aware of that about the stats etc do you mean the auction pix website and if you put the item number in there it brings up the stats or on ebay itself?
I just thought that as it was private and the bidders identities were hidden you could not view what they had been bidding on because their ebay names were not visible.
I can understand your reason behind the private listing though but I can say I for one as a seller have never done that. I would never intrude on another person's auction like that as it is bad manners to say the least and people that do that while an auction is still running should be ashamed. I have no qualms after the auction has ended though although I myself have never contacted prospective buyers like that as all my items go through ebay as it should.
