do you think it would be worth trying to contact members of ebay tat have left neg feedback?
just thought if there were a few of us we might stand more chance with trading standards

TBH, through my own experience, I think you would have more luck writing to or calling the seller and telling them that you INTEND to contact other buyers and trading standards, try and scare them into paying up.
Because I dont think TS will do much over such small amounts of money (to them), not unless you can PROVE they are constantly setting up new accounts and robbing people.

And of course unless you are paying for insured delivery and it is saying that in the ad, the seller can claim that items have just been lost in the post, you and I know it will be boll*cks but this is why you always should try to pay by paypal or by a recorded delivery with tracking.

Please can anyone who has had problems with these thieving fraudsters PM me - if we present a consolidated package - we need Ebay to take responsibility here as well as they knowingly allowed the fraud to be perpetuated as I had reported them 14 days ago and yes they still traded.

I have the trading address and phone number if anyone wants it and as for being defamatory would love to see the Thieving B******s try and sue for defamation of a character.

do not buy anything off line from a company in Scotland which will not accept Paypal. they are likely to be another Alias of this

i thought about the police as it is fraud but would i need lots of people to back it up?

No, that wouldn't be the challenge. The origin of the crime is in Scotland, where laws and processes differ slightly from those in England, so the cross border communication is likely to be the biggest obstacle. Report it to your local Police and no doubt they will give it a good go, they will have a way of contacting Ebay direct to get the vendor's address.

ditto anne2262 report it to the police. We sell a small amount on ebay and people like this give us all a bad name.
I have heard from other shops that reporting to the police has worked in the past and it might also make ebay sit up and take notice a bit more.

Thanks St Bernard for that I will check next time I come across a private listing.
It is still very sad to read about sellers ripping people off on ebay though, because not only does it make buyers wary it also gives Ebay a bad name.
IMO ebay should be doing more to protect people from fraud or sellers and buyers who don't comply with the sites t's and c's.
I would also recommend involving the police in this case as well.
Good luck and I hope the OP and all the other people who have been affected by these sellers are recompensated for their losses. I also hope this matter is taken seriously by the police and trading standards so that it will act as a warning to those who open accounts on ebay and assume they can do as they will including ripping people off.

well they are both in scotland, how did you pay 2U if it is through there own website then they must be the same people. 2U are no longer a registered seller.

Bear in mind that you can put ANY postcode as the 'item location'. It doesnt have to be the official address held by ebay. It means that sellers can appear to be based in completely different places. The only way you know exactly where they are based is when you have successfully purchased something. I did this when I was selling an item of furniture for someone and they were based miles away. The trouble is it means that sellers can change their name and you cant tell! I am 99% sure they are all one and the same person.

Opening didputes with ebay is'nt going to get you a satisfactory result, they only refund a small amouint. If you have paid by Paypal then you have a much better chance, open a dispute through them & it is likely you will get all your money back & possibly postage aswell. Good Luck

I bought a bridle from them and I was really pleased with it. But then I suppose they cant rip everyone off or they would never get any feedback.
