Hi All,

I am new to this forum! I am from Australia and will be in London for the next 10 weeks. I would like to do a massive horsey shopping spree over here but there is no saddlerys in London!

Can any advice a big store commutable from London - and a train station?

and/or a good online saddlery that stocks all brands???

Thanks!!

Does Lillywhites in Lower Regent Street not still have a riding department?

On-line you can do worse than Frogpool Manor in Chislehurst - they stock most major brands and are probably one of the largest in the UK.

Happy shopping!

Yes Frogpool was one that I know I can get to so going to check it out, just wasnt sure how big it was, i want a BIG one.

Lilywhites no longer stocks horse gear, Harrods does but not buying there and I want a one stop shop with all the brands!

Also dont mind where in or out of London - up to an hour as long as its big!!! Will be going to Burghley but they often dont bring much stock also the last two events have been so muddy hard to try stuff on!!!

Any others?

well if you can travel out towards guildford, maybe 30 miles from london you could try Rokers & Frosburys or outside Croydon "superhorse the pet shop", that has LOADS of stuff.

Or this place in Uxbridge

Or this one in central london - probably pricey though

I think you will find a lot of things a lot more expensive than in Oz and then you may have to pay excess baggage when you go home and duty to take into Oz. Although you may be able to buy them tax free if you are going to export.

The other option is you place some online orders as soon as you arrive and have them delivered to where you are staying.

If you can get out to Essex then go for a little day trip to Ingatestone Saddlery. There is a train station in Ingatestone (train leaves from Liverpool Street Station) and it is a really big tack shop with a cafe where you can have lunch (I recommend the Jacket Potato with Chilli) and you can get most things. Enjoy England!

Wow thanks guys VERY tempting to make a day of it!!!

I am being a bit careful of what I buy to make sure it all fits my luggage allowance (going through States so get 32kg!!) Also buying stuff that I know is alot more expensive in Aus like new body protector and riding helmets, boots and gaiters.

Cant wait to check these places out!!!
