Saddles direct ??

I have a saddle that I have had no luck selling and only assume its because its XWide. ? It's a Jeremy rudge which is a good quality English saddle.
Anyway, I have had a quote from saddles direct but just wondered if anyone on here had used them to sell one for you ?

I've had Saddles from Saddles Direct (albeit they didn't fit!) but their service is excellent.

Don't they buy saddles off you and sell on themselves? So you aren't technically left out of pocket for even longer. May be wrong on that one.

RideAway will also buy 2nd hand saddles. The problem with all these companies are that they obviously need to make profit so the price they will buy if often quite low.

I wouldn't have thought an XW would be that hard to sell! Assume you've tried Ebay etc?
 
I've used them and wouldn't hesitate to use them again, great service, fab concept. I *think* they've stopped buying to sell and are now selling only on a commission basis. Yes, you won't get what you would get for it selling privately and directly, but for a saddle of a decent value I'd use them. I'd take the lower return for the access to more potential customers and the confidence those customers will have to try the saddle knowing they can return it easily etc...
 
Thanks for the reply. Have put it on eBay twice. From the quote I got from saddles direct you pay to send the saddle to them and they then advertise your saddle then when it sells they take there cut and pay you the rest. Don't want to pay to send it to them and 6months later it still there !! Just wondered what there turn around is like.
 
seems to be just pure luck as to whether or not somebody is looking for type of saddle that you're selling.

I put a 20 yr old XWide GP saddle on ebay and got the same money for it that I'd paid new all those years ago :eek:

Sent an almost brand new (used twice) well known DR saddle to Saddles Direct and it took them a year to sell it :(
