Hey everyone,

Just a quick question really.

What saddle is best for a TB? I have been looking at Thorowgood T4 but the horse is a slim built tb ex racer. So because she is going to be changing shape I will have to have quite a few saddle fittings. So What saddle would be good for the different changes? Will I have to buy different saddles each time or is there a good one with adjustable gullets etc?

This may be a pretty silly question but I don't want to go out and buy any saddle I want one fitted by the saddler - but obviously shes going to be changing shape a lot lol.

Thank you in advance :)

The high wither T4 from thorowgood have changeable gullets and fit Tbs very well, they have a very good tree and panels for the TB shape

You could try something treeless to help accommodate the changes of shape - something like the Fhoenix Vogue would probably be most suitable for a TB as it has good spinal clearance and is more like a conventional saddle, so not too weird ;-). Most of the reputable treeless companies have fitters that will come and fit them properly for you as well, which is obviously the best way to be sure that they do fit.

Hope that helps :-)
