Would love some advice as to what kind of saddles I could look at for decent sized withers. JD has quite prominent withers but they're short, not like the usual long and high withers, this is probably because he's a short cuppled 15hh tbxarab. He's got quite a bit of muscle etc so it's not wastage.

I've so far looked at the Kent and Masters High Wither GP and the Jeffries HW Hawk Event saddle although not tried them in the flesh, wondered what your opinions were? Would like a forward cut saddle as we jump, flat and hack.

hi i have the same problem with my horse -hes tbx arab and has a large but short wither and short backed even tho hes 16.2hh and in a MW . i was advised that there were a few makes i should look at ;- albion with High head or tb tree, keifer ,passier, and ideal. but im looking for a dressage saddle so might not be quite the same for you.:)

I have a Wow dressage saddle, a Stubben Tristan Extra dressage saddle and a Stubben Siegfried which fit my high withered horse brilliantly.

Good luck!

I've got a keiffer & an ideal on mine. He's TB though so has long & high withers. He also dips right behind the either so a Lemieux pad is used as well to help. The ideal is an event & was made to fit him, the kieffer is dressage & took me quite a while to find a dressage saddle to fit him.

My horse has high withers but quite a dipped back. The Kent and Masters cob actually fitted him as he needed a bit of a wide saddle as well to allow movement through his shoulders.

Our warmblood has extremely high withers, and we have found that the best saddles are the Bates with adjustable gullets. He has a dressage and jumping saddle, and we have been very pleased with the fit, and apart from the annual check by the saddle fitter we have had no problems

I have a very high withered hackney x welsh cob. He is in a Kent and masters high withered saddle. Prior to this, he was in a thorowgood high either as they are based on the same tree
