Instructor pointed out yesterday that I have a 17.5" saddle and a large space between my knee and knee rolls that allows me to flop about the saddle in manner of helpless fish..

I'm 5'2" and smallish frame - can anyone recommend me a saddle that might suit? Do the shorter people among you use a 17" or 16.5"?! My instructor was on about the Thorowgood Pony Club but I'm feel a *leetle* too old for that...!

Recommedations welcome - I've always had Albions and liked them but am not choosey, will sit in any saddle! Horse is a TB if that makes any difference (will get saddler etc. but need to let him know what I'm looking for).

I have the same problem as i to am only 5'2.
I use a gfs event saddle as shorter saddle flaps, and a neater seat.. they also do a dressage saddle for little legs to...

Jeffries do a lovely saddle called perflexion which both my husband and daughter use, she hasn't got long legs, he has, so hers is 17" and his 17 1/2".
Both are a dark mahogany brown colour, very secure and comfortable.
You can only buy them S/H so may find a bargain. We use them on numerous horses and they seem to fit almost everything.

I'm 5ft1 i have a kings jumping saddle, i prefer older saddles as they normally have shorter flaps. I feel like a thelwell when I ride other other horses and they have massive GP saddles like I can hardly touch the horses sides!

well i bet you all im 4ft11 i have an ideal dressage saddle.

well my saddler made a mixture i have seat from one ideal saddle flaps from one and knee rolls from another he also shortened the flaps as well didnt cost a fortune ither and fits my mare great she is 16.1 friesian and it dont look funny on her at all just looks like a normal saddle.
