I'm after a straight cut saddle for my cob, i do more dressage than jumping so something like a working hunter or show saddle would be perfect. Can anyone recommend a make or tell me what you use on yours?

Ideal saddles. I have an Ideal VSD, which is more straight cut than your GP saddles, but still kinda suitable for for jumping. I also have an Ideal Finesse Show saddle being made for my cob, they're new out and are designed for 'horses of a larger stature'.

Ideal H&C (Highland and Cob) I worked in a saddlery for 8 years and took me 6 to find a second hand one to fit my girl and that was it... like a glove. I have since tried it on 3 other welshys (friends Horses) and they all want my saddle!

I have used an Ideal VSD on him and would use again - but this time I'd find a decent saddler to fit it properly!!!

Have been through about 4 saddles with him - currently in a T4 Cob GP which fits him really well. I would like to get a decent dressage saddle for him too but may have to wait a bit for that...

My (non-welsh) cob has just had a t4 cob plus saddle which (touch wood) seems like a good purchase after previous saddle struggles. Lots of people also recommended Ideal saddles to me too but they were out of our budget at the mo.

My Stirlingshire * WH saddle (*which is made by Ideal, but found on ebay for under £300 and nearly new!!!) was a dream on my Welsh D. Now use it on my PB Arab who is rather wide :D

Another vote for Ideal - I have the Josephine with flair fitted and love it.
Also have a Jeffries Stamford WH again with flair - which I would love to use but is slightly too wide for my boy.

I have a Farrington VSD which fits mine great. Is also a very comfy saddle to ride in

Also now have a bespoke Farrington that has the knee rolls cut more forward for me for jumping but still remains off his shoulders enough to not interfere

For Chancer, my gypsy cob I have a Silhouette WH and for Farra, my OH's clydesdale, a Forrester WH.

Our horses are not that wide, at the moment they are wide and I think will end up extra wide as they are only six and still growing. Both have withers and not table top backs, but do have very large shoulders and these saddles fit them very well.

They are very comfortable, great for the show ring, including WH which I do with Chancer and also dressage. They also go jumping in them, Farra up to 2'6 and Chancer up to 3'3 and the saddles feel very secure.
