What is going on with paypal on ebay. I sold a saddle two days ago and paypal are holding payment for 18 days, not really very fair I don't think. I understand the need to protect buyers but what about sellers? What happens if buyer does not leave feedback? My sale was a genuine and honest sale and I am somewhat peeved that I have to wait for my money whereas the buyer now has the saddle. I didn't realise this had all changed and won't be using ebay again.
 
Ebay changed to this a while ago but at least you sold your saddle. You may have to wait for your money but would you have been able to sell it without using Ebay....it does give you access to millions of potential buyers where as the tack shiop board is only seen by a few dozen.
 
You will get your money as soon as you get positive feedback, if they don't leave feedback then you will have to wait, once the time is up if no dispute has been started, you will get your money.

Yes, it's a pain, but as you say it's to protect buyers, sadly ebay is better at protecting them than sellers.

currently have a saddle for sale on e bay! wat if the buyer "buys" the saddle then recieves it, then takes the money back?? can they do this?? or will i def get my money but in 18 days?

yes they can, its really bad that they can get away with it. It happened to my son who sells a fair bit on there and he sold an expensive phone. The guy paid, son sent phone but then the guy retrieved money. I can't remember all the details but my son never got his money, guy had his money and a brand new expensive phone

ive just been through the terms & conditions again (been using Ebay for some time) & having read the changes i have ended my sales.

sorry but id rather not sell my saddle than have someone effectifly use ebay to steal it.
notice can stay up in feed merchants, seems a lot safer than Ebay now.
 
im going to end my sale now too. what is the safest way to get payment if i advertise at tack shop? not many ppl want to carry that much cash with them!!
