In my quest for saddle heaven I have read all sorts of wild claims, disavowals, recommendations etc etc and then I found this very interesting (though 10 years old) piece of research. It is undoubtedly quite dry but really interesting and thought provoking for anyone who has tussled with the choice between treed, treeless and magic carpet saddles! https://beva.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.2042-3306.2010.00237.x Of course, this isn't the only research available and lots of knowledgeable folk have probably seen this before but I did think this worth commenting on for those, like me that haven't. Essentially, I think the researcher's conclusions were that riding skill is the thing that will truly make a difference (not withstanding other factors of course). Enjoy...
