A beautiful lad with the most caring of owners died today from colic. Vet out twice. As many drugs as his system could take. We just couldn't do anything for him. I feel disjointed.

It's been a long and ultimately sad day.

Oh gosh how sad C

((((((HUG)))))), never had it, touching loads of wood, at least you all know you gave him a chance.

RIP have fun at rainbow bridge

That is so sad, please give some hugs to the owner from someone they don't know - me. Hope you are OK.

Absolutely painful way for a horse to go. I sat for 14 hours with an old mare early last year until my OH took over at 2am, blizzards and freezing, how she made it in her thirties I'll never know but I really feel for anyone who loses their horse this way.

Thinking of everyone involved today.

Oh how sad for all of you

It leaves an eerie stillness which lingers around the yard doesn't it

*hugs* to you and the horse's owner - they must be distraught

Thank you all. We are all hot and sweaty and tired. We didn't feel we could do what we'd planned on whilst all this was being played out. Friend was there when it started (her young daughter spotted that his breathing was funny).

I won't go into details. Everyone tried so hard.

C, I'm so sorry for your friend. Ugh the pain sucks it really does. I bet Doogie and him are rushing round the great hunting field in the sky feeling great. Give your friend massive hugs from me, I know what there going through.

Thanks all.

I haven't seen the owner, I only know her briefly, but she loved that horse so much. He wanted for nothing, everything was just so. He was just so damned sweet and nice and gentle. I'm not sure that owner will have another horse
