Hi all
Well after Saf throwing herself on the concrete 4 days ago I never actually thought we would make it to Windsor
but at 4am yesterday I dragged my self out of bed and by 5am I had dragged Saf up from her sleep, not a happy horsie.
Made it to Windsor by 6.15 and forgot how far it was to the other side to walk the course, I was 2nd into the ring
for the Team Services Comp, walked into the ring to walk and boy that ring is impressive, if I had had more time, might have got nervous but as it was it left me 10 mins to warm up, warm up felt hard under foot as they had rolled it so did not do too much and loved the chap outside calling our names telling us how many we had to go, felt like a pro
Warm up

Was called up to the gate and in we went, Saf had a good look around then got on with the job, least the stands were empty that time of the morning and she jumped the most fantastic calm round for just one pole that she hardly touched, at this point the realisation dawned that I had just jumped in the main ring at Windsor and I could not stop grinning
I have permission from Pleasure Prints for these and old one from 1995

Our other 2 team members went clear and we qualified for the final later in the day so had time for a walk around and a bit of shopping.
Back at the lorry tarted Saf up, plaits had to be smart to parade infront of the Queen and we decided J from our team would do the jump off as she has the horse who jumps consistantly
All the teams (26of them) met up at 3pm for the parade and waited by the river to be called up.
The Team

At this point Saf was calm but as we got closer to the main ring I could feel the buzz of the huge crowd and so could she
We practised out eyes right and salutes so the Queen would be impressed and in we all went, Saf just about held it together as far as one side past the Queen and then bounced like a ball and the more the crowd cheered and clapped the worse she was, did some lovely piaffe and passage and some other stuff I am sure has names, I just could not stop grinning. I really do think Saf thought it was all about her, I was happy to see other horses mis behaving too
Out side we then waited for J to do the jump off, I had a cry as I have also ridden Safs mum at Windsor and it was just too much as I loved Treasure so much
This was her in 1995

I think she and Saf are so alike
anyway pulled myself together and J produced a super clear round and we finished 4th

Back in for the prize giving and again Saf boiled over I kept her well away from the Queen as she was now spinning like a top and striking out with the leg at a rate of knots and the crowd behind kept laughing and making more noise which just kept her high
Did manage to get the rossettes into her plaits and we cantered around the ring in our teams it was just amazing and I feel so proud
Sorry for the overload of pics I so hope we can go back next year, I have some vids if ever I can work out how to download
Thanks for reading
