Hi all

What a very very long day, Saf and I are both very tired. Up at 6 home at 8.30pm

Day did not start well, dad was stuck on the M25 and I had to travel alone and got caught in the roadworks and arrived late with only 20 mins to warm up

Cue me being rather tense and this I think fed through to Saf

We did test 125, started 6's and 7's and squeezed an 8 for a lengthened trot
smile.gif
and back to a 5 for the first trot after the walk, canter work for Saf was good remaining on 6's and 7's.
I thought the test deserved a 40 but was very surprised to score 34.5

Now the 4hr wait, walked the course slooooooooowly, had a glass of wine and went to see the SJ but they were running late and no one seemed to know if they were changing the course

Don't know about you but I find it really hard to switch on again after 4 hrs, restudded and tacked Saf who was now grumpy, so was I

Went down and they were just changing the course, spoke to the course builder who said he was going to build to 1.10 but no treble. Seems to be a good step up to Novice.
Course was good it was me who was not, interfered at fence 2 and she cat lept

sorry Saf

then it was a bit stop start so 2 down, on reflection I was trying to make the canter pretty not thinking about the quality of the canter

Onto the XC

Saf was awsome nothing major to report except WOW felt great, did get .4 time as got lost but thats my fault
blush.gif
, had 4 hours why oh why did I not walk the course twice, have bought the pro pics of her jumping down the step to the skinny brush, my arms out wide as I had slipped the reins

So finished 20th and happy with that, dressage is improving, Sj is me

and XC felt Fab with a capital F

Thank you for reading

Well done, didn't realise the sj was that big

We finished 28th but I thought it was a big section. Who was the photographer?

Its a fine line with the brakes, but at this stage in the season the curb is loose and I have control so can't ask for more, might change in a few outings

Sounds like you ended the day on a high, well done

Must make mental note to yourself to remember everything Pippa taught you whilst remembering everything else, NO pressure

FOUR hours!!! Blimey!! Well done on your dressage score - awesome!! Will you be posting pictures? You can post as many pics of your neddy as you like - they'll be no complaints from this corner!

Hi Weezy

I remembered the look away but forgot the don't interfere around the corners and let Saf balance herself
blush.gif
I blame the 4 hr wait
tongue.gif
and OLD AGE

Padlocks wont stop me! You may come back to a fat coloured gelding in your stable rather than the beautiful Saf!!
wink.gif

Will keep my eye out for the pics.
Ive been practising your advice from pippa and found it amazingly useful!

Oh that's brilliant, well done you! I don't think you're alone with SJ being your weakest phase - it's an eventer's trait!!!

Well done you, please post the pics when you get them, would love to have a look!!

Hi Hattikins

Planning Somerley next all going well, Saf had a bit of filling behind in one leg so got the vet straight out today, it appears to be only fluid no lameness or any other symptoms so pressure bandage to disperse, keep on as normal and watch for any other changes, fingers crossed, think vet thought I was being a bit over protective but would rather make sure

Hows your girl?
