Safe Trailer for under a £1000

Have a budget of £1000, preferably just under, do you think I'd get safe ready to use, smartish looking trailer for this amount.
Not really fussy on make but obviously need it to be safe.
All the cheaper ones on ebay seem to needs refurbishing and the nicer ones are £2500.
Has anyone bought a nice one for this budget or am I dreaming.
 
I bought a Bateson for £1000 from ebay. Its pretty ancient but in very good condition and a goid sound trailer. They made them sturdy back then!
 
I've got a Sinclair, it's scruffy looking but it all works and all the mechanics who have ever serviced it comment on what a solid, safe trailer it is. It has a galvanized chassis, auto reverse and a new floor.

It'll be up for sale when i've bought a lorry that'll carry a four wheeled carriage as well as the horse, I'll be loath to let it go.
 
I've had 2 Rice trailers, paid less than £1000 for both and they were both safe, though they both suffered from sticky brakes and needed light board really for both of them.
 
Get a tarpaulin for it. I have a wooden back I can put in mine but I want to make my own cover like they used to have. Need some studs and a decent tarpaulin.

Dodgy? Foreign (US?) trailer, pic taken a while ago, sod all info. Odd.


I paid £670 for my current Beaufort, had to replace the tyres and lights, but the floor was sound. My first was £1200 and that had a recently fitted triple floor and a full refurb and paint job. I bought it from Ralph Bailey, he reckoned front unloads start at £1k and go up, rear unloads start at £1k and go down.

Is this trailer to be towed under B or B+E licence rules ?
