Was wondering if any of you have had any dealings with safecob.com or kn ow anyone who has?


I've been looking at their website having totally lost confidence in the whole buying process after having been sold a horse who is certainly not what he was supposed to be! Just wondered if anyone had any feed back on them at all.

quite a few posts get made about this company the genral feel is dont touch with barge pole use the search thingy at the top to search for past posts
 
Safecobs can seem a bit priceycompared to some but then they seem genuiine. I have only known one person use them and they were very happy with them and the horse.
 
The place where I bought my mare is probably closer for you. www.stubleyhollowfarm.com Its just outside sheffield on your side of the Derbyshire border. The business is owned by a woman called Patsy Day. She guards her reputation well, so would rather not sell you any horse, than sell you an unsuitable one. I'm sure she has made mistakes, but she genuinely try to match horse and rider. I have been in your position, so I know how you feel. I had my confidence (and my arm) shattered and was a wreck when I went to Patsy. I went there because I knew of several people who were happy with nice confidence givers bought from her. I bought my mare Flora from her 4 years ago in the spring and she is a babe.

I know someone who had a horse from them. It certainly wasn't a "safe cob", but there was no quibble about returning the horse, only of course the person who trialled the horse lost a fair bit of money on the return.
 
I no someone who had a cob from them, she had him for two years and loved him and he was perfec for her in every way until work commitments meant giving him up in which case safecobs took him back.
 
Yes, I was thinking that. I've heard very good things about safecobs. There is a lady on Newrider at the moment who is posting photos of the new horse she got from them and she's thrilled.
 
I have ridden a horse from safecob.com who was a nightmare. They sold her into a riding school when she was absolutely not up for the job. Not her fault, but really they do stretch the truth to the nth degree in their website. Just read what they say - if that were all true, why would they sell a completely green horse into a riding school.
And bombroof website and safecobs are the same company. Really beware.

www.bomb-proof.co.uk and www.safecobs.com are run by two completely different people and are in different parts of the country, - are you 100% certain they are the same company? I would have thought they were completely separate as their approach to selling horses is quite different.
 
Stubley Hollow, Safe Cobs and All About Cobs all have good reputations, I know peopel who have brought lovely horses from all three and would certainly consider buying from any of them myself. Steer well clear of Bomb-proof though
 
Bombproof and Safecobs are two very different dealers.
You have to have your eyes open wherever you buy from, Safecobs generally have a fairly good reputation, and Stubley Hollow has a fantastic reputation.
 
IMO both are way overpriced! Dragon Driving often have nice cobs advertised cheaper too. Many dealers have quiet cobs for sale and I think these people are capitalizing on the fact that a rider has lost his/her confidence. The most 'bombproof' cob I ever bought was off the gypsies, maybe I was just lucky but this horse had been brought up on large gypsy sites and was used to all kinds of hustle and bustle.
 
I bought a horse from Safecobs.com a few months ago and I'm delighted with her.

So far she has proved to be everything she was supposed to be and more. Yes we've had a couple of teething problems as we've got to know each other, but you should expect that with any horse. Anyone who buys a horse and doesn't expect to have any problems at all, should opt for a motorbike instead.

Having bought from a dealer from hell in the past and had my confidence completely destroyed as a result, I was really nervous about buying my next horse so did a lot of research before I bought from Safecobs. Everything I heard about them was really positive and having spoken to the team there I was more than happy to part with my hard earned cash.

Ironically I did look at Bombproof before I contacted Safecobs but very quickly realized that they weren't a company I would want to deal with and to clear up any confusion they are nothing at all to do with Safecobs.

I can only speak from my own experience but I can't fault the team at Safecobs. They may expensive but in my opinion the work that is put into these horses behind the scene is worth every penny. Yes, you can spend a lot less on a horse but at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

For those who have any doubts about Safecobs it is worth taking a look at their online forum to see just how satisfied owners there are out there, me included!
 
Safecobs are excellent and yes they maybe overpriced as some say but at the end of the day they are safe.I bought my horse from them 3 years ago after loosing my confidence big time on a previous horse who i didnt pay the earth for but that almost killed me.They describe the horse exactly as they are and dont feed you a load of bullsh**t like some dealers.I highly recommend them after all you cant put a price on your life can you?!
