Can all you folk experienced at travelling horses give me some input please. Renault Master 3.5t van convo, 99% of the time it is just my Highland in it. I currently leave the partition in as I think it must help him to balance by holding him up in a small space (he travels perfectly) Was wondering though, whether he would be equally as safe/steady without it. My 2 main concerns are that he might lose balance if he has more space around him and also that if he is constantly shifting from side to side will it make the drive more unstable. The only reason for removing it is to make him more comfy but Ive no idea whether it would. Can you advise with regard to the 2 things Im worried about.

Not sure if its the same but I travel my mare without a partiton in my trailer and at first I did worry about her stability but she is absolutely fine. makes herself comfy and stays there for the entire journey.
I was told (because I asked the same question as you) that the partition is only there to seperate horses not to keep them upright.
Works for me< try it.
