Looking for advice/ recommendations for the safest turnout pen for a horse recovering from surgery after box rest please ?
Needs to be robust & not flimsy but easy enough to move around too

Tall electric posts with a few strands of wide white tape to create a really visible barrier. I set up mine as a circle for my mad mare, so no corners to pull on the posts, and made the circle bigger as she settled into the routine. Electrified, of course.

Heras fencing is easy enough to move, and looks like a great idea, maybe it is for some horses, It's very light and that would be my issue with it!
I've seen a few accidents with horses turned out in heras fencing pens. The panels are not really strong enough to withstand a kick, if the kick hits near a frame the wire (sometimes) comes free- leaving a lovely sharp hoof trap. Its also not strong or stable enough to withstand hard rubbing. I once turned out a horse into a Heras pen and it tried to jump out  Obviously not possible but the force to one side almost took the whole pen over and involved vets and a lot of blood- NOT my horse or my idea!!

I'd agree electric fencing with a good energiser

When I have seen Heras fencing in use (not with horses), it has usually had concrete blocks at the Base, I wouldn't fancy moving it.

My pen is duracorral I got a barely used pen that was returned but it was still several thousand. My vet did rent one to me to start with so I knew it would work.

Heras panels are lightweight, and have heavy bases. Both easy for two people to move. They have kept my friend's cob mare safely penned all winter without a hitch. On the other hand, my cob backs up to the fence line and keeps reversing until the fence tips. He then sits down like a dog and does a backward roll over the fence, which then springs back into place. If I hadn't seen him do it I would still be puzzling over how he got out.
