Hi I am looking to upgrade my very outdated peacock safety stirrups I have a fear of being dragged. Venue Tech stirrups, Free jumps, bow balance sprenger.
Any one got any experience of the above and how they ride/release?

Also looking at stirrup leathers and as I have wonky legs would like a narrowish pair with plenty holes English leather.

My daughter uses bow balance. They will release from pretty much any angle. I've never seen a rider caught by one. (PC and hunting mum -loads of fallers!) But I have seen the cheaper look alike alternative chain stirrups break.

I do know people who prefer the free jump because they are lighter so if you are thrown and hit on the head with a stirrup it does less damage. They are certainly lighter - but I have to confess to not having seen anyone suffer head injuries from the stirrup iron in a fall. I've not seen the Tech stirrups specifically before - but I have seen that release type. I do worry about that release mechanism as it leaves a sticky out bit which could injure horse or rider should the horse fall too. But I haven't seen that happen either....

Edited to add... sorry. Don't know why that posted twice?!

I have the Tech stirrups. They are a really nice stirrup and although I've not put it into practice I'm confident they'll work well. They will snap back into place after the release so no danger to the horse
I've no experience of the others tho but I can't see how the Freejump releases.
