Now, you will all have been inundated with Saffy pics recently so decided something diff in order. This is Storm aka Pennbretti May Day and is Saffy's 5 yr old big brother! The poor bot has had a bit of hit and miss year as he threw a HUGE splint last year so had time off....came back into work, was jumping amazingly, etc and then got his leg trapped in something and hurt his pelvis....cue physio....got him back into work, had his flu jab and he had a HORRIBLE reaction...like i thought I would lose him it was that bad!!! He didn't bounce back and this was November so other than the odd hack I gave him the rest of the winter off to recover. Then in late January I brought him back into wotk - he is a good boy...3 months off and i jumped straight on and we went for a hack. THEN on 15th Feb I was injured quite badly and so poor boy got shoved out again. Believe me things have been sooo hit and miss I have almost sold him qyuite a few times as feel not fair on him!

Anyway, I managed to wrangle a well trusted friend to ride him for me.....one of the only people other than me that I have ever allowed. He has now been ridden 3 times.....1nce to end of road and back, 2nd time a quick w, t, c round the field and then this schooling session and whilst green and a bit confused as Laura was not mum, I thought I would share some pics with you...bless her she was very nervous as never schooled him before or anything so forgive her position in pics and yes she knows she needs to look up!

Love him - he's fab!!!!

I have an urge to pull his saddle back a few inches though - in some pics it just looks as if it's sitting a bit too far forward on top of his shoulder movement to be comfortable?

My young pony needed 3 visits from the saddler before he fitted point straps that actually do the job of fixing the saddle in the right position. It's a nightmare getting the saddle fit right for a young pony/horse without spending an absolute fortune!

I totally know what you mean about the saddle but that is him...believe me...saddle is pulled back as much as you dare without pushing on his kidneys. He is just very short coupled. At the moment he has a very light wintec but plan is to have one made just for his shape once eh finishes changing shape as changes every day still.....one day has huge shoulder next not. Saddlers have said as long as he is happy with it at moment we go with it and then change when he finished growing.

Storm is a lovely young horse and very well behaved in the field. Love the last photo of your friend. Enjoy the Summer with him.

Thanks all!! Well I won't likely be getting to enjoy him for some time as my back is pretty messed up but he was sooo bored in the field that I enlisted Laura to ride him!!
s!!!
ILove Foals - i WISH he'd inherited his mum;s welsh mane as hers is lobely and easy. His....god knows where it comes from but he has enough mane for about 3 horses!!!

He is rather nice and I,m really liking your part of Sussex is that a dairy farm in the background? You should get pleasure from seeing him go nicely for Laura even if it is not you on board. I got a lot of pleasure seeing my mare being competed with my rent-a-daughter on top mind you thats cos I,m to old,fat & woosy to do it myself!
