Hi all
Well if was our first BSJA outing since the summer
and to say I felt rusty having been a dressage diva for a while was an understatement
Arrived with friend at 9am then we realised that she needed to go by 1pm and there was no way I was going to be finished due to the entries so I popped back to the yard and got my lorry and swapped Saf over.
So after being there hours and hours warmed up for the Disco I was about 85th to go in a A7 class thought they might have ran it 2 phase
Had the help of Sarahs which was fab and she kept telling me to keep the canter on the corners, which is where I start to pull
so went in and my new thing with Saf is to canter in once through the doors and keep the canter to keep her mind on the job. Was so happy with how she went and even a little surprised when she came back down the related distance and then had to ride the last two strides and I was over the moon to go clear
Fairly long wait for the jump off and 22 in the JO with 17 prizes
can't believe how many entries there were.
So warmed up again and boy did they put them up, I know its been a while but everything was at least 110
We were meant to be taking it slow but I got a little excited and we had one down in a fairly good time
Was over the moon to find out we came 11th in a huge class
So onto the 1.05 which they made a speed class and all the way to the first fence I was saying to myself "go slow and school" but when we landed my competive edge got the better and I started to go for it, slightly spoilt our day by having 3 down in a good time but with a huge smile I HAD FUN so did Saf
Bought a lovely photo over the boggie lilac and pink planks oxer which always causes problems at Merrist and she is really tucking up, shows why you need a stud girth.
Anyway got back to the yard in the dark put Saf away and went back to the lorry up the ramp I went collected my bag and out the grooms door............................................................................................................................................splat on the floor...............some idiot..........ME had not put the steps down, I was now rolling about on the floor, ankle in agony, wet bum and hurt pride
Thanks for reading and hope the last bit made you laugh, I am now sitting here with wine and bruises and swollen ankle........oh love my horse so nothing matters
