Hi all
Saf and I have had a hetic week starting last Thur when I started my annual leave and we made the trip to Hickstead for BD having a go at E53, long arena
and highest test we have attempted.
Was over the moon to score 64.4% and getting 3rd in Rest and 7th overall with some pros
Friday had a jump at home and made her look pretty again, for Aldershot
Sat - Aldershot show for the services competition, 1.10m first and just had the one down, followed by the team comp with you guessed it one down.
Sunday - day of rest
Monday - Back to Aldershot for the BSJA rings and the 1m and 1.10 am classes,
had another one down in the first class and in the 1.10 had two down where she spent far too long looking at the brass band in the main ring, bless
Tuesday - new shoes for Saf and a easy day
Today - off to Vicarage Farm for BSJA, got there walked the courses in both rings got brave and entered the New in the main ring, looked huge and the fences were so bright, Saf was a super star and thought she had managed a clear but the final fence fell late, oh well felt it was a real achievement to ride in the main ring.
Second class was the 1.10 handicap and she was a bit more up for it
went clear and as two phase turned after the first fence in the JO and she just locked on to a fence which was not in it, the course builder and two others had to dive into the oxer as Saf eyed them up
it was a bit scary to be honest and after I managed to get some control and finish for 2 down I went over to say sorry, they still looked a bit scared and he said "Boy he is a bit of a handful" I said "Yes sorry she is" and left as fast as I could
So now onto the bad bit, got Saf home thought I was being a good mummy putting her in the field, well she had other ideas and jumped out over 3 fields and onto the yard where she galloped about till she fell over skidding about 3 metres on her side and she just got up shrugged and took herself to her stable.
She is covered in cuts all over her left side the worst on her forearm, fetlock and hip, nothing needs stitching but I suspect tomorrow she will be very very sore indeed. I have put the equisagge on tonight and walked her in hand and everything has been cleaned again so will just have to see.
Please send her a few healing vibes as she has been so good this week, she really is a silly girly who I love to bits, it was horrid seeing her skidding across the concrete
Saf you are daft
