I loved mine, bloody expensive, but fitted beautifully and made me feel secure in the saddle. Full seat kind. But now they've gone into a weird wrinkly texture over all the thigh area. They make my legs look like they've developed severe crow's feet. Why? About two years old. No tumble driers, fab cond etc.

Have no money for Pikeur now, is it possible to get a reasonably-priced alternative?

Weird? I have had my Pikeurs for about 4 years now and apart from being a bit faded they have been brilliant - however they are the only pair I've got as they are so expensive! I know Eurostar breeches are brill too but again big money. I use Mark Todd and Equitech jods as a much cheaper alternative. My Mark Todd ones were about £50 and still going strong after 3 years. I've just binned some Harry Hall one, cheap and lasted less than a year!

I think that the full seat ones are more prone to going saggy because of the material, the ones with knee patches last longer.(another pikeur fan)

Thank you for the tips on more economical jods. Am really quite distraught re my Pikeurs. Apart from the fact they cost so much, they were fabulous. Am in mourning over them. I hardly ever find clothes that I love (probably because I hate shopping so much), so when I do and then lose them, it's hard...

I've had Pikeur breeches for years with no problems. Current batch are around 2 years plus and still fit as good as they did when new.
May be worth giving the manufacturers an email on the off chance, especially if you have followed the washing instructions

I also recently had a dissapointing experience with Pikeur.

I have a pair that I have pretty much lived in for about 3 years and apart from the zip just going recently they are still fitting the same as they did. They are Cindy (full seat).

So, I decided to bite the bullet and buy some more online - exactly the same size and design as mine, but when they arrived they were really baggy and didnt fit as nicely so I had to send them back. GUTTED!

However I have found some really nice full seat Jeffries breeches which fit really well and so far are wearing well - only had them 6 months so time will tell!

I have always loved Pikeur breeches, and have owned several pairs. I bought my last pair in June, and the material has already gone baggy in places, as if all the elastic has gone. I'm not impressed!
