A lovely friend of mine has recently lost her happy hacker...she is heartbroken, but not down and out!

She will soon be looking for:

Gelding
15.3 to 16.2hh
7 to 9 yo (but negotiable with a younger horse if temperament is right)
ABSOLUTELY bombproof, no bucks/rears, vices.

Lady is 50 plus and needs to feel safe. She isn't a numpty by any means, but she has been there and done that, so would just like to be able to hit the ground running (not literally

) and be able to enjoy her new partner from day 1. She has gone through hell trying to get Jake sound, but she made the horrendously difficult decision to have him pts, and she really deserves to enjoy her horse from the off.

Goes without saying that horsey has to have no soundness issues. She can't go through all that again, although we all no nothing is guaranteed.

Said horsey will be used for long hacks, 5 days a week and would be spoilt to within an inch of its life!

Although not absolutely necessary, TB x types are her favourite, but again, temperament so much more important.

Thanks for reading - it would mean the world to me if we can fix her up, as she has been an absolute rock for me during difficult times and she deserves some happiness...she has lost her Dad, dog and horse in the space of 2 months, but still wants to help me with my youngster by bringing him in for me during the day when I'm at work, hosing his legs off and giving him a good brush!

She's a very special person, who is waiting to meet a very special horse.

i know of a VERY nice horse that i THINK is for sale...my friend evented him last season- she said that he's nice and talented but not a superstar...not sure about exactly how bombproof- will try and find out for you

Reading your "wanted" list make me feel rather smug. I have just the gent - he is the most fantastic little nedster you could ever wish to meet - if he spooks it is an "apology" of a spooKe he goes up all of about 4mm and nods his head a little - you then put a little bit of leg on and he goes "ohhhhhhh nooooo...... oh go on then" is this what you want mum?? and off he trundles.

If you jump him in trot, he lands in trot, if you go gallop off he goes and the slightest half half will have him in canter or trot. He is like a tiny ballon - if the herd go galloping past he goes "can i go, can i - oh ok then" and walks all the way back to his stable. He is a little sharp when you mount, and just wants to get on with life, He is 9 a 15.2hh pure tb and a very pretty boy. I can give you the name of the dealer he came from and she may have something else similar, she is based in Malvern

She sounds like a lovely person. Good luck.

You might be asking a lot trying to find a bombproof TB that young though?

I know, but there are exceptions...Jake was TB x ID and her previous horse was an ex racehorse by Politico who sired Party Politics (Grand National winner). She bought her age 5. I learned to ride on 'Polly' - not the best combination - small child on a young 16hh chestnut TB mare, but we came to no harm! And my ex loan horse Bernie (ex racehorse) is still going age 20 (I had him from a 3yo straight off the track), teaching a young rider the ropes. He was absolutely unshakeable out hacking! So there are some out there.

But generally I agree, we might be lucky to find an easy TB, but it's possible

She just likes that type, but as I've said, temperament is paramount...
