Saint Titchy, over horsing, and a nagging mother

That is just the cutest! I will show it to MiniBoo tomorrow, I bet she will go crazy. It makes me so broody for a pony for her, but she's a tad too young yet.

We have had a pony since she was 18 months...! :p

Another super Tichy video. Love the idea of melon and linking to cantering! Children have such novel ideas. How lovely to be able to go on a mega ride.

She was quite tired by the end (but so was I!) we were out for hours :)

Not in Scotland, miles away in South Wales :(

Oh :(

I soooo wish I could... if I could persuade my parents and lived a little closer! Are you in the Pony Club?

We are probs joining Angus. Would you be interested in competing her in the future if we are heading down your way? Do you ever come to Inchcoonans? Other than needing kept going forwards because she is looking at fillers etc, she is not a complicated ride at all...

Ahh right, won't coincide then, as I am Fife Hunt ('though nearer Strathearn!) I would be ineterested in Competing her some time, would be great fun, but will ask parets in the morning. I haven't been to Inchoonans, was looking to go to some of their training show things, but I thought that you had to be a member? Just out of curiosity, what sort of height are you currenty jumping her?

No you don't have to be a member at Inchcoonans. I have only jumped her around 50cms but I am 5ft8 almost :o. She isn't fit or ready just now, I am riding her a lot more now tho (I had a rider but it was a disaster and she was going terribly for her as she was not a good rider, my 4yr old daughter can ride her more effectively!). I will start taking her to their clear rounds to get her out and about once she is fit again. I go there a lot with my 14.1.

Meh, sorry, unfortunately it's a no go at the moment :( She sounds lovely though, and I wish you every luck in the future.

you do have them in larger sizes, for the rest of us to bid on, nice to see a child ride with confidence.

We have a ludicrous amount of ponies but one isn't backed yet and the other three are getting enough work (Titchy may say he is over worked but he's getting a week off now, do I clip him again now while he's off...!)

What a lovely video, super little pony and a great rider !
You sound just like me with my little un's except I don't have your soft accent!

Another fab video - thanks so much ! Titchy really goes for it doesn't he, love him to bits. And yup, i think the gorgeous palomino could be the next step up .

Possibly stupid as you may have thought of this already... But tie a knot in the top of her reins? Or buy the coloured reins?

Lol do you think its normally to have to keep reminding them then? I hate listening to myself saying it over and over again and think I sound impatient but actually it is just fear that she can't stop him!

Lol shysmum she has to ride the section A at some point :-D. Don't think I need anything else tho, between the three of them we will manage.

I had a knot in them and she struggled with that, I hate riding with a knot in mine too. You can't get coloured reins that small. I am going to put elec tape on them however. I think she is getting a lot better tho.

Nose fizz! That's the cutest thing in the world!

Lol thanks :D

Loved the video...

Has your daughter watched the video with you at her side? To reinforce your rein training? Or what if you google some say show videos so she see how other children do it.

You must be so proud though. And while I perhaps shouldn't point it out but......the dangly long reins...do show a small person who is not reliant on hanging onto the ponies mouth to stay on!!!!

She has watched it but that's a good idea, I will video her trying to to stop with washing lines and with short reins and show her the difference :)

We have been doing quite a lot of trotting on the long lines, where she starts off holding the neck strap then lets go and can do "airplanes", hands on head etc. I think that's quite good to keep her from hanging on by his mouth, I get her to hold the neck strap to begin with as his transition can be rather er up hill and powerful :D

Lovely video, bless her they look so cute.

Have you tried using rein stops? I know i had them put on when i was small and they worked. Gives you a rough idea of whereabouts your hands should be. They do need fitting quite securely but definitely work.
