ARGHHHH
Just seen tomorrow is cancelled at Salperton

Oh b*llocks, I needed that run. Better get searching for some SJ instead then. That's rubbish but no real surprise, I thought it might happen and said so earlier in the week.

Im so suprised, been dry here all day, very warm too.
Mind you, i say it as if Salperton is down the road, which it really isnt.
Real bugger, was looking forward to going as its one of my favourites.

Blewbury have Sjing tomorrow, but i doubt that helps

There is unaff at Summerhouse so will go there instead. Just hacked off as I really needed that run and have effectively wasted a super ballot sticker too.

Seems a lot have used ballot stickers and lost them this weekend

Now wishing i had used a ballot sticker for Ascot, seems they are balloting for that now with the influx of cancelled events. I was put on teh wait list for Shipton Moyne so withdrew.
Can see me ending up having to travel miles just to get a run *sulk*

You at Nutwell Court next week? is that Novice or pN?

Nutwell Court, yep, and at least that is always begging for entries! TBH I should not complain, we rarely ballot round here and last year not only did I have most of my ballot stickers left, I also had both my super ballots left!

Novice next weekend, hence wanting the stiff XC run and also another outing. However, will not kill us to just go SJ anyway as that is the bit most likely to catch us out next weekend, and Summerhouse use BSJA builders and are up to height and unaff goes up to 3'6" so should be a reasonable approximation of next week anyway.

I am always cross when things do not go to plan!

Indeed, but i guess things happen for a reason and its given you a chance to work on the dreaded sjing.
XC will be a breeze for the pair of you next weekend. But like you say, its damn frustrating.

Actually it will serve me right to get balloted, because i have all these damn stickers and i dont ever bloody use them

Now thinking i should enter Tweseldown PN just in case, mind you will wait to see if im balloted first lol

However, fair play to BDWP - just got a text saying it is cancelled!

I have to say, good though the new BE entries system is, I do wish two things would improve about it:
1. That they would text you times and info like this as I am so often out on site.
2. That the schedules would link to the correct dressage test so you could look at it without going through the downloads bit! (which is me being lazy, but still!)

Oh thats good.
Havent used that txt service before.
Yes agree with the dressage test, that drives me nuts!

I got a message left on my phone last night saying the BYEH was still going ahead

which was good as i spent most of yesterday battlling with the pc to get it to work.

Ooo just seen (after whining to mum only 10 minutes ago) that Smiths Lawn are running 5 year old classes... great! another one back on the list.

Brrrrghhh...

I'm just back from Salperton after helping with fence judging. Yes, it rained a lot, but the going looked worse where the vehicles had driven which had caused a lot more damage than the horses. It was very squishy around the sponsors tent at the end of the day though.

Are you running at Ascott BBs?

I just had a message reminding me I'm stewarding there too.

Gutted, i bet thats the reason, because of the lorries not the horses
frown.gif

I was about to pm you about tomorrow too.

I am entered for Ascott, just hope i dont get balloted.

Which fence were you on? long day!

God, that is almost worse! I mean it rained loads at Longleat and that place is a public attraction!! Oh I am just bitter, mainly because horse is happy in mud and rain!!

I've just got back... it was utter carnage. Mud literally three foot deep in the lorry park, everyone was towed in and out... que of about 10 lorries to get in and out at any one time! Even the landrovers were being towed out.

I'd say the average faults in the SJ was about 16, with probs 10 clears max across all the classes.

Excellent, that was the right thing to say. Ok I feel better now, and am remembering all the hideous washing and tack cleaning after Longleat. Ok, they were right to cancel, hurrah, nice clean SJ on a surface tomorrow!!

PMSL!
See I go back to my original posting, everything happens for a reason, and utter carnage sounds a good a reason than any for NOT going lol

Especially as we needed a nice confidence giving SJ round, not ploughing through feet of mud and me riding like a pleb like last week!

Its okay, i rode like a pleb sjing last week too
grin.gif

Must have been a weekend of it.

Yep go and have some fun tomorrow, plus think that you wont have to do any extra washing before next weekend.

I did enjoy today, only having to wash one numnah and wipe my boots over

Its a real shame as in my opinion its one of the best events of the year, and Holly Farr works really hard to organise it.

I was so excited about finally going there, I really was looking forwards to it, hence being a bit miffed it was cancelled, no reflection on the organisers at all, I know how hard they all work!
