Is it just me or is £45 plus £5 start fee extortianate? The prize money is good but there is now only one class, theres likely to be lots of people doing it and whilst I was planning on doing it on both my two, I cant afford £100 plus diesel to not be placed!! (bearing in mind I wont be placed)

It is very expensive.

What do you mean one class? thought there was the Novice and the Intermediate?

You eventing there that weekend? or were you planning to just SJ?

I had a funny feeling they were running a 5 year old class, but apparently not

How do you know you wont be placed!!!

Mac would have been great at something like that he was a clean, very bold jumper! As a rule!

Does sound like a ridiculous amount for an entry fee, but then that seems to be the trend of BE lately!! Ripping us off!!!

So did I but apparently not anymore, or not that I can see anyway. Was planning on doing the novice on Moon as a fun outing instead of eventing that weekend and the novice on Boss as a sort of final, no pressure, thats have fun sort of a jump.

I just dont think it's worth that much money sadly

It isnt a BE run thing though so they dont have affiliation fees etc to pay which makes it seem even more expensive!

Trust me, I wouldnt be placed- Moon wouldnt be fast enough at this stage and Boss would have poles if I let him go at his chosen speed!!

sh!t.. If all goes to plan i can't do that!! Ernie would win it no problems hehe (of course i can say that if i can't do it).. got all my stuff back from Ede today, even tho i'm still not qualified

Dont blame you hun.
I wouldnt.

I mean, the IT at Bicester show as £50 entry fee with a £3000 1st prize!
Not that you would catch me jumping 1.50m

Im thinking of entering, but tbh I may go to MKEC and do BYEH class instead.

Naww be nice for Boss to have a last jolly

Thats what I thought, its the sort of thing that would be right up his street as nobody cares about style/ flattening poles by going too fast

Boss in his best mental state would have thrashed anyone in this sort of competition but sadly I think those days are gone. Wouldnt mind having a little go to see though.....

Well I need to go back and try and retain my title there! I came back £750 the richer last time and this time they have upped the win to £1000!

Yes well when you have a decent chance of winning, £50 is probs easier to swallow

Good luck, you'll be very hard to beat again

HAHA your mother sounds like mine!

Well we are gonna have a crack at Houghton eventers grandprix next week (and I have two in that class) and Lizzie Bunn said I might get an invitation to Hickstead eventers grand prix... you win a car in that one!
smile.gif

PMSL!
Was going to ask about the other one.... hows she coming along?

Its nice to have one clean jumper, you now have two....
grin.gif

I wanna go at the blenheim celebrity pairs.. just dont have a pair *sulk*

I know very lucky... although the slaving away at dressage training continues!
Hickstead is 1m30... so rather huge! Might need to pluck up courage for that one.

Oh the joys.... I know the feeling, you have my sympathies, my grey mare was just the same, unfortunately didnt have the endless scope yours has.

Hmmmm....it says open to BE and BSJA members, but how can BSJA people compete if the prize money is more than £10
confused.gif

I think Hickstead might be even bigger..... looked massive when we had mossy there last year that one is £175 to enter (i think) or was it £150 with a £25 start fee, something like that!!!

I don't think we'll go down to Houghton now
frown.gif
they've got the novice and open on different days which is v v annoying as not worth going back twice. Salperton though, Moss will be there to challenge you ElleJS - he doesn't want to come 2nd this time and was practicing at the NEC!!!!

Have to admit would have loved a crack at the Salperton Eventers Grand Prix would have suited my girl down to the ground - hopefully next year.

Yes Moss could be a a very big rival! But my little Connie on a good day...... a bit of healthy competition I say!
