salt licks

people always seem to be using them and as far as i know they are benifical to the horses diet.

my horse lives out all summer *march till november. as has electric fencing. i can see a way of fixing a salt lick the fence, not to the posts it wouldnt work. also she has no field shelter as she had high hedges. i want to make sure she has the things in her diet she needs and she always licks metal (aprently a sign of needing salt).

how can i give her a salt lick in her diet

These are fantastic!

I leave one on the floor in the field for my mare, they don't go to mush in the rain either. She's also got one hanging in her stable.
