I'm not sure how many remember me posting about my dog Sam over 10 years ago!
I got a rambunctious 3 Yr old white GSD that had shown signs of aggression and we were struggling to train walking without pulling.
With the help of people on here we got him walking nicely and we managed to get his recall. He has been walks with various groups local, comes back, recalls even when he started chasing a deer and has been fab with pup we brought home 7 years ago.
My old boy is now 13 and a half years old. ? he's slowed down a lot and we thought we were going to lose him last year when he went into the vets as his urine was full of blood. Vets scanned him and found a tumour on the Friday. Monday they phoned and asked how he was and they were pleasantly surprised we didn't have to take him in to be PTS. He slept pretty much round the clock, barely ate and when he did chicken was the only thing he'd touch for weeks.
He's now back on his dog food, a quick Mri appears to show the tumour has shrank a little.
A year on he is going very short walks, comes to the yard to trot around and goes to hydrotherapy fortnightly. The last year has been especially special for us and we're grateful for any time we have left with this incredible boy.
