Well, well!
At the risk of sounding like my mother-in-law, I knew this would happen!
What do you all think? I think Sam is a fine jockey and will do well. Feel very sorry for Daryl Jacob, who just had no luck at all.

Good luck to him! I hope he does well.

Do feel for Daryl especially as he's still recovering but like you said I think most people knew it was coming

I also read he had a counter offer from Nicky Henderson so I think him and Paul Nicholls are looking to the future, a bit like Gigginstown signing up Bryan Cooper in place of Davy Russell.

Think it's a great move for Sam and he has the chance to know the youngsters better as they come up the ranks so hopefully the stable will once more be filled with stars; it's been a bit bare without the top guns this last season even though they've still had good results.

With the exception of Ruby who was very much his own man & a talent PFN couldn't let slip through his fingers, jockeys don't last long at ditcheat.
And I don't believe DJ didn't want to ride BB, he got jocked off but no one wants to admit to that .

Nicely handled by PFN as usual.

It was just one of Nicky's owners, not the whole stable. At least Sam has a big yard to go back to if he becomes the next scapegoat unlike Joe Tizzard, Sam Thomas, Daryl Jacob, etc. With Ruby, Nicholls needed him more than Ruby needed Nicholls.

Fly had two riders in her racing career...Sam and Daryl :)

That is not help, just thought I'd mention it. My best wished to both of them :)

Sam is better presented in front of cameras and stewards than almost any other jockey. He rides very well, although there have been a couple of incidents which have caused a few raised eyebrows over stewards decisions. He is a good choice for Nicholls, so much of racing today is how you are before and after the race, not just what you do in it.
Will he last? Well we shall see, he stands more chance than most, as although an excellent opportunity for him, he has already ridden very regularly at the top level.
