Same stallion in bloodlines

Firstly, my knowledge on breeding is limited, hence why I am approaching you as experts!

I'm looking at a horse to purchase, and have found it has the same Stallion in its breeding on both the dam and sire side.

We are talking (and excuse the terminology...!) Sires grandad, is the same as the Dams great grandad.

Would this cause any issues, or is it far enough removed not to be a problem?

It’s quite a lot more common than people realise in a lot of cases. My mare and stallion had the same grand sires and both are healthy wonderful animals and their daughter is too.
 
My stallion is quite closely bred on both sides, he is healthy, throws fab offspring and has one the best temperaments ever.
I think the old saying is something like "if it works it's line breeding, if it doesn't it's inbreeding" ?
