Sand arena query

Looking advice on a sandschool we put in last year..
Usual construction of large stone and smaller stone ontop and then we were advised to put 6 inches of washed sand ontop of this.
Problem being the horse is cutting into it far too much. It’s been rolled and levelled.
Would putting a topper on it help or do I need to remove some of the sand? Any suggestions welcome thanks

I added carpet fibre to the sand when I got my school done. Apparently it stabilises the sand.

I had the same problem and added carpet fibre - it has worked really well. Ready for a top up now though and can't seem to find anyone reliable to supply (the person I used originally isn't in business any more)! I will return to this post in the hope that someone can recommend a source!
