The vet came to have a check up on the progress of my horses laminitis and things are looking good (touch wood). I am preparing ahead a bit as they have said I can let him out of the stable in a few weeks for a potter around the area in front of his stable. So I am going to put something down in front of his stable (it is in a field) to ensure it does not get too wet and muddy and also so it supports his feet well during the time he is out of his stable.
Do you have any advise on whether sand or wood chip would be best and also what type of sand, if sand is the answer please?
Thanks

I'd go for sand, although not sure what type is best. At my old yard the YO had a bark chipping track from the stables to the field and it was lovely at first but quickly rotted and became a squelchy mess
