My sand school has been laid with a china clay waste product which is a non-silica sand and is very heavy going and deep to ride

Can anyone suggest an expert witness with regards to the type of sand that should be laid and the sand that i have had laid?

What does the receipt for the sand describe it as?

Did a contractor build your arena, and supply the materials, or was it a self build? Or did you source the materials for a contractor to use?

These people sound very knowledgeable, might be worth dropping them a line -m thy certainly point out the danger of using china clay waste.

Thanks for getting back, the receipt described it as grade A equestrian sand, unfortunately I can't find them and the quarry won't let me have copies as they know i am after them. It was a self build but I did give the ground works company a specification that required silica sand and they sourced it from a Cornish quarry. I know it sounds stupid now, but hindsight is a wonderful thing

You could always try these people for advice http://www.lbsilicasand.co.uk/
Its Leighton Buzzard Silica sand website. As L/Buzzard is rather famous for its sand I would say they would be able to help you as they actually quarry it there.
