Anyone bought a saddle from them?? I been there before so know what it's like lol but never bought a saddle from them, looking to get a synthetic 15 inch pony saddle any ideas how much it would be roughly??? X

lol.. what is with all the posts from Sandon saddlery???!!

Are there no other saddlerys in the world? I've been once or twice but its nothing amazing...

Why not give them a call and ask them?

The last one was from me aswell lol!! Im going there on Thursday just not sure how much money to take ive been before but was a long time ago and all I bought was two headcollars x

I like them as they are not rip off, reasonably priced and I bought my saddle from them when I got a very wide cob, they have a price for all pockets/wallets.

I wasnt bothered if it was new or second hand.. I sat on loads( 2nd hand stubben was best but too narrow) . I have never seen so many to choose from and staff were very good rummaging around the saddles. I ended up taking a new one home and told not to get it too dirty or damaged which was fair enough if it didnt fit. I must have paid for it and I am sure they gave me so long to try. They did offer for me to get the horse over to the shop to have it fitted etc. But it was easier to take it home to try.

Its probably the only time I was happy to spend a couple of hours kitting out new horse! But the selection is very good.Loads of second hand ones. They can get things repaired etc and its just a good old fashioned tack shop.

Good luck.........

Crumbs i have not been to sandon saddlery in must be nigh on 15 years, i cant believe it is still going.
Who runs it now it was 2 old ladies both about 120 years old back then but they were a mine of information.
Is the fab little pub still over the road they just to do a great lunch in there

The pub has shut now, it's a private home.

Miss Dodd Noble still owns and runs the shop. Daphne eventually retired and went off to Devon to her family I think. The shop is still staffed by the 'older generation' .

Nearest pubs for luch are Moon and Stars in Rushden and The Bull (recommended) in Cottered. All the 9 pubs in Sandon are now closed and are private homes.

Ooooh what a memory jerker - many years ago, when I lived in the UK, my sis in law and I used to spend many long hours rummaging through their delightful tack shop - and finished off with a lovely lunch in the little pub. Those were the days - I was young then and thought they were ancient -but now I think Im about 120 years old!:D

I think the shop is a million years old as well. A TV programme should be made of times gone past!

So funny..........makes me giggle to be reading this.

Earlier this year a family stopped for directions to the shop as they were buying a hat for a child and I said you will know it when you get there and hoped they had plenty of time!

Narnia.....

Ive decided to take £100 plus two saddles to trade in, one being a jeffries so should get a fair bit from them xxx
