I was about to post that I had a bad day there today.I was going to moan about getting lost and arriving late and doing a rubbish test and rushing to get ready for the jumping and having two down ,then having a stop xc ,it was a bad day for us .Then I read the post that said a lady died there yesterday and I went cold, how could I moan about my day,we are home safe and sound,I feel so sorry for her family I competed there today and had no idea.
I feel very humbled

Horrid isnt it, poor girl

Sorry your day wasnt great, but like you say, at least you got home safely and I'm sure improvements will be made next time

it is awful, sends shivers down my spine. its funny how we complain when we have a tumble but are able to jump back up and carry on. We're so lucky, i feel deeply for all those involved, must be heart-renching.

Just wondering- i dont want to sound shallow- but will the jump she fell at be taken out of the course?

We had no idea today that anything had happened there yesterday.
A couple of years ago I was walking a course[inter] and half way round noticed no horses had come past us, we could not hear the tanoy then when we got back we were told a lady had died at an earlier fence and they were abandoning the rest of the day

sorry to hear you had a disappointing day... but theres always the next event.
At least you're both safe and sound - suppose that's all that really matters !

it really does make you think doesn't it, so so sad

Course was quite nice and they were very helpful as we were very late getting there.sunken road ,coffin with roll tops ,black pipes 2 strides drop into water, train, last jump had roof on which I hate as my horse ducks and always knocks his legs on them.Sj very straight forward but sloping.

Did see the park bench for novice it had light coloured stone chippings in front and thought glad I'm not doing that as my horse would try to jump that as well and might hit the fence, but maybe it was put down after accident, hope it never caused it. But it was a thought in my head as I walked the course
