Well set off yesterday morning in the rain to sapey which luckily is one of our closest events!!
Got there and plaited up walked the course! It was already looking cut up when i walked it and only 10 or so horses had gone and i would be one of the last but all in all looked a nice course with only a few skinnies and a corner but a massive drop at 4 (i don't like drops)!!
So on to the dressage warmed up great, best he has for a long time so had my fingers crossed and he went in to do a super test which could have been a little better had the arena not been on a slope!! And got a lovely comment at the bottom along the lines of - Great partnership can see you trust and understand each other!! so pleased with that
Then on to the sj did look that inspiring with only 3 fillers and about 25 to go when i got there but watch the course for a bit and then warmed up! he was jumping quite well but did rush slightly in to the X and the upright but was great at the oxers. Went in and he wasnt his best had a little bit of a lack of steering after the 2nd towards the collecting ring but jumped the rest really well only having number 4 down a down hill upright which we didn't need to have down as i should have half halted!! but ne way only one down so was very pleased!!
Then on to XC was quite looking forward to it for once so set off meaning business (went with the yard i work at and had had rather massive studs put in so no problem about slipping!!) he flew over 1 2 and 3 with a nice gallop in between then 4 the skinny drop up a hill skinny he got a little close to both skinny but great then 5 fine then 6 a double of skinnies on 3 strides - perfect (had practised similar the night before in my lesson but on a curve and only 2 strides!!) then 7 massive trakehner (sp) then 8. 9 was a corner jumped that fine sunken road at 10 great but after this my medical arm band fell off but managed to catch it and carry it the rest of the way home!! 11 a box thing 12 a ditch combo 13, and 14 he flew then on to the water skinny jump into water out of water to a separate number skinny jumped these all great them onto the train and a rail to finish!!
As i went with the yard Chris had 2 in the PN so helped with those and heard the results of my section and i had come 6th!!
So so pleased with him 33.? dressage 1 down sj and 4.8 time faults (think there were only a couple quicker!! and some were getting high 20s without stops!)
So had prize giving at only got a rossi if there had been 3 more starters i think i would have got money but oh well got a point instead!! so we now have 6!!
