Hiya,
Quick question - I am currently after something for a bit more va-va voom in my pony who appears to have lost some of his sparkle and sharpness recently.
All relevant health (vet, farrier, chiro and physio) and tack checks have been carried out and everything has come back fine, so vets reckon it's just a mix of old age and his past (didn't have the best start to life) catching up with him.
Would you go for Equi-Jewel or Outshine?
I'm after more of a spark when ridden and for sustained energy levels without blowing his sporty little brain, equally I don't want any weight gain as he's at a great weight right now. Pony in question is in medium work, mixture of hacking, lessons, competing (unaffiliated), showing and general horsey activities. Ridden 4-5 times a week with sessions being roughly anywhere between 1 to 2 hours, plenty of breaks are given and pony is fit enough to withstand workload (in fact he's been in harder work previous years and not lost any spark, so this is quite unusual!)
Current diet is as follows :
Ad-Lib good quality haylage
Turnout on good grassy fields 10 - 12 hours per day
Dengie Healthy Tummy
TopSpec UlsaKind cubes (these will be replaced by either Equi-Jewel or the Outshine)
Blue Chip Original Balancer
300g (dry weight) Fibre-Beet
I'm torn between the two so thought I'd ask all you HHO'ers
