Has anyone had lessons with Sarah Williams and how did you find them?
Thank you!

I was taught to ride by Sarah (many years ago) havent seen her for a long time but know she is doing well for herself in the dressage world now !!

Is it for someone to teach you on your own horse?

Yes she is my trainer and I've known her for about 6 years.

She is brilliant, brutally honest, perhaps a little scary for some who are used to being molly coddled and told their horses are working correctly when they're not!!

She is a GP rider producing her horses from scratch, a list 2A judge, BD trainer (has done BYRDs etc) does BHS training, runs Equi-pilates, puts together dressage to music for people, has a successful livery yard... She is a dressage queen!! Although she gave me a jumping lesson on one of her working livery BSJA ponies the other day and it was more useful than the lessons I have with my regular pure showjumping trainer!

If you are keen to progress then you will go far with her.

Hi there
Thanks for the reply. I have been riding at Oldencraig on their schoolmasters now for 3 years and there is certainly no molly coddling up there either! I am hoping to start with her on her schoolmasters as I don't have my own horse.

I have been struggling to find anywhere else that will suit me but this sounds very positive thank you.

I used to be a livery at Oldencraig so know their horses etc. Depends who you had lessons with there? What level do you ride at?

Everyone has their own teaching style and priorities so probably best to try a lesson and see if it works for you. It's probably easier to get something out of a schoolmaster lesson, but trying to find the right trainer for your own horse can be a minefield!

I would suggest that you go and ask to watch some of her lessons, and see if you are comfortable with what you are seeing, as in her style of teaching
As well as each horse, each person has different requirements, some need the push, some need the encouragement, so go and see if she is what you are happy with.

She is fantastic, I love and enjoy every lesson I have with her I can feel a big difference in my horse. She knows her stuff and telsl you how it is without being rude, she not nasty (ie whip) happy and everything is slow and steady. Would recomend her fantastic instructor and she is for any level of rider.

I agree she is fantastic very good, and can read horses very well, my horses have improved so much with her, I wouldnt have anyone else I say go for it.
