Few weeks ago I done a thread asking if people had used sarc ex & whether it was any good as one of mine has a sarcoid in the girth area. Anyway I decided to buy a tub & give it ago & 3wks on I am amazed at how much it has gone down. The head of the sarcoid has shrunk so small, I just can't believe it has worked in 3wks. A lady on the yard uses it & she said her horse has a few & it has got rid of the smalls one straight away. So anyone that has been thinking of giving it ago I would recommend :)

Hi I posted yesterday about possibly trying this on the lumps on my grey - I got the usual call the vet line. Did you get the vet out first for a diagnosis before you tried it or did you just give it a go? It it a supplement that you used? And does it have a strong flavour as many of the global herbs things do - I have a very picky beastie!!!

Do you have any before and after pics of the sarcoids? my horse as a couple on his chest but they have gone down a lot on their own in the last month or so, so wonder whether its worth trying or if they might just go on their own?

I have just started using Sarc-ex (14 days in) on my 18 year mare who has them really badly between her chest and her back legs. As yet nothing noticeable to report but I am hopeful to be one of that seemingly large number of people who have tried it and had good success. As to palatability, the supplier I used was very helpful (Supplement Solutions) and as there have been one or two cases of horses not liking it, they warned me before I bought it as I intended to get the 5kg tub. My mare isn't picky and woofs it down. As I am in the Channel Islands it was cheaper postage wise to get the big tub which is on offer at the mo with this supplier. I wish you luck if you do try it and I will report my results in another 2/3 weeks. I was told I should see something (if if was going to work) in 1 - 2 months.

I had the opposite effect - it actually made my boys very small one which hadnt changed in yrs double in size. At first it went dry and flaky and then bits fell off and it started bleeding a bit which attract flies (worst thing ever with sarcoids) no matter how much flyspray etc I used. The cream was very bad - we only tried that once.

I also tried the Thuja tablets which made it double yet again in size!

In the end I had it lasered off and horse was off work for 4 months as the wound kept opening up. Wish I hadnt touched it to begin with.

Be very very careful with anything that you try. I agree that amazing results have been had with various supplements/creams but there is always the chance that you might make it worse (like I did).

Thanks CB Anglo - good to know the good and the not so good. My girl's sarcoid are pretty grim although still able to ride her but a few of them have recently started to 'blow' and drip blood which as you say, attracts the flies. oO this latter note, I have a homemade flyspray which seems to work as well if not better than many of the proprietary brands - 1 equal measure cider vinegar, baby oil and water. Shake well before using. Stinks a bit but the flies hate it and I don't worry about spraying it on or around her sarcoids in the same way I use to with the stronger preparation I was using.

I have no before pictures which I wish I had got now. I did get the vet out because of where it was in the girth area & he was convinced it was a sarcoid which I suspected. He suggested I try a supplement before going down the route of the vets treatment as it's not cheap & he said unless it gets worse or nothing works then they will come back & treat it.

So a lady on the yard suggested I try sarc ex as one of hers has sarcoids & thought it was good. I said to her yesterday I can't believe how quickly it seems to be working & she said the smalls ones on her mare disapeared quickly, but her bigger ones are taking longer.
