Posting on behalf of a friend (not her horse either but trying to think of ways to help) - I'll try to keep it a bit vague so as not to be too identifying.
This horse has sarcoids on its face (photo attached), has been seen by vets who have quoted £3k for treatment. I don't know what treatment has been proposed and have zero experience dealing with sarcoids myself. Importantly, when my friend messaged me today they were sure that the sarcoids have shrink a bit over the course of the summer where the horse has been out to grass 24/7 - previous to this they feel that the horse was quite low in itself (stabled a lot, quite miserable) and wonder if it's something to do with lowered immunity.
Owners are either unable or unwilling to pay and horse is due to be PTS at some point in the near future. This is a nice horse otherwise, wasn't cheap and has been a useful competition sort, as far as I'm aware no other issues with it.
I guess really I'm looking for any helpful advice on behalf of my friend who would consider taking the horse on if there was a good chance the horse could be treated successfully.
