Sarcoid - Natural suggestions please

My horse has a small sarcoid under her belly right where the girth goes. She has had this for at least 8 years and it hasn't caused any trouble as I use some gause to protect the area when I am girthing up. Recently I have noticed it is getting bigger and more bumby. My friend had great success using garlic as her horse was covered in sarcoids and within 4 months they had all gone. What would be best to use - whole cloves, powdered or granules? Anyone know or can suggest any other natural remedy. Have tried topical application of Thuja but this didn't work.
 
Crossgates (biogenics I think?) at Settle have some really good homeopathic stuff for sarcoids. Not sure of their number. try google it?
 
As jrp204 hun. Take great care with a true sarcoid as it's a skin cancer. Beware of putting anything on it that says anything like "encourages new skin growth". The last thing you want on a cancer is to encourage it to grow more. Tea tree products, aloe vera and camrosa are all no nos. Be careful too about things that have worked for friends because some things that LOOK like sarcoids aren't. Not sure what on earth your friend did with garlic - did she rub it into the dodgy areas or feed it to her horse? A good thing to ask yourself is if I had skin cancer, would I rub x, y or z into it. The article jrp204 refers to is written by Prof Knottenbelt at Liverpool University - he is a world expert on sarcoids in horses (amongst other things) and his advice is the best. There have been many many posts and replies on the Forum about sarcoids - might help if you have a nose through? I'd start by getting the vet out to make a visual diagnosis. Then Liverpool Cream (Prof K's invention) often has very good outcomes. Good luck with your ned x
 
what about camrosa, but if its started to change i would get the vet to have a look, its the same as if you had a mole on you that had started to change you would see the doctor, its always best to be on the safe side
 
jrp and B_o_F have some good advice - if you had skin cancer, would you look for homeopathic treatment?

Also, please don't use camrosa, it stimulates cell growth so is obviously the last thing you want to put on a sarcoid. Blood root contains arsenic if I remember correctly, and while some vets use it I don't think Prof Knottenbelt is keen - again, would you want to put arsenic on yourself to cure skin cancer? If I were you I would get your vet out and get him to send photos to Prok Knottenbelt for his advice.
 
My mare has sarcoids. She has garlic everyday to help keep the flies off them. She still has sarcoids - I doubt the garlic had anything to do with the cure - if it did I'd put her in a field of the stuff.
If you read the link to Liverpool you will see that not everything that looks like a sarcoid is a sarcoid so possibly your friend's horse didn't have them - and maybe yours doesn't either. You can only be sure if you have a biopsy, trouble is that can make them worse. Please talk to your Vet before you put anything on the lesion & please don't use camrosa (I have heard the leaflet actually says NOT suitable for sarcoids!), tea tree oil, aloe vera or anything else that stimulates cell growth.
 
Knottenbelts cream reportedly contains arsenic. I have a few clients currently on Liverpool protocols and its the route we go down most often - because it has a reasnable success rate. There is not one "cure all" answer though so you could try the bloodroot and similar treatments, just beware that all have a low success rate and what works for one horse doesnt necessarily wrk for another.
 
I used to look after a pony that had sarcoids on his face. We put manuka honey (i think thats how it was spelt) on them and they reduced in size and where hardly noticable. It is quite messy we used to put it on with a spoon but it seemed to work.
