Hiya, having bit of a problem with sarcoids at our yard. My old pony started getting them a year ago on his face and they got quite back so needed treatment (which came in the form of a pretty lethal cream made in liverpool?!). However, another horse has now started getting them also and starting to worry that they may be contagious. Vet has said that they are generally thought not to be but I'm getting to the point where Im panicking whenever I see a bald bit anywhere! Does anyone have any advice at all? Or any alternative remedies as the specialist cream stuff was very strong. Thanks!

Sarcoids are very very agresseive which is why u get that cream from liverpool. i used to work at a vets and nothing works as well as that cream.

Ive heard that they can be contagious if they are "open" or weeping

I have however treated a small one on Oscars leg with Camrosa and it hasnt come back (DB runs off to touch some wood)

A friend used Sarc-X from Global Herbs and said it worked very well. I have heard of lots of ways of treating them, but non will guarantee to get rid of them. As far as I am aware, the Liverpool cream is by far the best.

My horse had a sarcoid about 2cm diameter. I couldnt afford to get the stuff from liverpool so tried camerosa. Its great - have been putting it on for nearly 2 months and it is now smaller than a pea and still shrinking. You have to do exactly as they say but u have had no problems and would ude it if she got another!
