Had my horse treated with Liverpool Cream this spring, treated by vet who said that the sarcoids should fall off in 6-8 weeks. Problem is that most of them are STILL like attatched scabs, and have not really changed since week 6, the only one which seemed to come off was one near his eye but in the last two weeks this one has returned slightly bigger than it was before.
Any more ideas for treatment?
Willing to try herbal remedies or whatever has worked for people, obviously can't freeze the one on his face, vet wants to wait till january now to avoid flies.
Poor boy would be so pretty if it weren't for the one on his face

I would definately get a second opinion from Prof Knottenbelt at Liverpool.
The sarcoid near the eye concerns me- this must be zapped asap, and not allowed to get bigger.......do not wait until January. Liverpool do radiation treatment which is epsecially for sarcoids near the eye, this has a 100% success rate, and the horse only needs to stay there for 2 weeks.

Also another reason to get in touch with Knottenbelt is because if you leave things lingering your insurance will run out; and the radiation treatment for the eye sarcoid will be £4,000.

Unfortunately any sarcoid treatment is not covered by insurance, and £4000 is out of the question until I inherit from some hitherto unknown relative.

I use Camrosa for sarcoids and have always had 100% success with it. Some people don't like, or have no experience with, Camrosa, so say don't use it, but I've used it for well over 10 years on a few different types of sarcoids and all have cleared up completely. It's about £30 for a tub which should be enough to clear up quite a number of sarcoids.

You can only buy it over the Internet, here is the link; http://www.camrosa.co.uk/

I only buy the ointment and not all the other bumpf. As I say, it's always worked for me so I have been happy to use it over the years. Some others don't hold it in high esteem and that's okay, horses for courses as they say.

My horse had a sarcoid removed from his eye area by Tim Phillips at Liphook when he was a 4yo- he's now 13. Although they say that if you remove them surgically there is a risk they can come back, this has never happened (touch wood) and he has had 2 sarcoids removed surgically. It is also quicker and cheaper(esp as the insurance doesn't cover it) but that's just my opinion!

The same thing hapened to my horse when treated with the cream.
My vet came back and then injected the cream underneath the sarcoid.
It then started to come off but not completely.
My vet later came back and cut it out which left a massive hole but it did all come away cleanly and was in fact dead as it should be.
For some reason it just didnt want to come off on its own.
It then healed very quickly and neatly and hasnt come back.
So i would recommend yu getting your vet back because it sounds like ours and was just stuck.

I have heard a lot of good things about camrosa so its defnitely worth a try.

My remedy for sarcoids is Thuja cream in a 200c potency. You can get it in a cream and tablet form, I used both together will 100% success.

I have also used sarc-ex by global herbs.

Thanks for all your posts!!!!
It's so great that everyone so helpful.
Will look into your recommendations.
Came across an american forum dedicated to sarcoid treatment where some people claimed success with crest toothpaste which seems a bit way out to me, would they not just lick it off!!

D'you know I've heard of people claiming to have success using toothpaste too! I've never tried it so don't know whether or not it really is successful, but interesting that so many people say it is.
