My little Lily starts her sarcoid treatment next Monday, with Liverpool cream. A friend of a friend had her horse treated the same way and found that he became depressed during the treatment. :( Has anyone experienced this with their horse's treatment or any other side effect?

The Liverpool cream treatment can be quite painful - depending on where it is. Sensitive areas like the sheath, for example, will swell quite badly and a bit of Bute may be called for. I'd guess that pain could make a horse appear 'depressed'. I'm currently treating a 5 year old stallion who has 2 on his sheath and 1 on his scrotum - not with Liverpool Cream but with Effudix (not least because I didn't fancy losing my vet! :D) After a week of treatment he just became rather bad-tempered with anyone approaching his nether regions - and Effudix is much 'milder' than LC.

taz has had the liverpool cream used on sarcoids three times it does burn and will leave a large scab which falls off after a while and he didnt have any other side effects, however i also got thuja cream and the tablets when my insurance would no longer pay out for the sarcoids and took him off garlic as the thuja doesnt work if still fed garlic and it worked like a treat have had no sarcoids in over a year, unfortunately i had to find something else to try keep the flies away :(

My lad had 3 treated at once, one large ulcerated one on the inside of his foreleg, treated with liverpool cream, one tiny one on hindleg treated with zorac cream and a verrucose one on his neck, treated with effudix. He was on bute whilst being treated with the liverpool cream but other than that showed no other side effects. He was quite happy to be ridden whilst being treated too. It is very strong cream but i think each horse reacts differently to it.

Fingers crossed that your Lily's treatment goes well.

Sarc X is by Global Herbs and works!!
My friend has used it on her horse and his sarcoid has dropped off and not left a scar.

My horse is on the second tub now, its a powder you mix into their feed, and his sarcoid has dried up and looks like it wont be long before it drops off.

Good Luck
